Do you enjoy the thrill of being scared by creepy creatures, gory scenes and twisted plots? If so, you might be interested in some fun horror trivia that will test your knowledge and challenge your nerves.

Here are some facts and questions about some of the most iconic horror films of all time. How many can you answer correctly?

  1. In The Exorcist (1973), what is the name of the demon that possesses Regan?

  2. In Psycho (1960), what was the name of the motel where Norman Bates lived and worked?

    a) 217
    b) 237

Answers (with a little bit of trivia):

  1. a) Pazuzu. This is the name of an ancient Mesopotamian demon that was also mentioned in The Exorcist novel by William Peter Blatty.
  2. a) Bates Motel. This is the name of the fictional motel that was inspired by a real-life murder case of Ed Gein, who also influenced other horror characters like Leatherface and Hannibal Lecter.
  3. b) 237. This is the room number that was changed from 217 in the novel by Stephen King, because the owners of the hotel where the film was shot did not want guests to avoid that room.
  4. a) Buffalo Bill. This is the nickname of the serial killer who skinned his female victims and tried to make a suit out of their flesh. His real name was Jame Gumb, and he was based on several real-life serial killers, including Ed Gein, Ted Bundy and Gary Heidnik.
  5. a) Annabelle. This is the name of the doll that was allegedly haunted by the spirit of a young girl named Annabelle Higgins, who died in a car accident. The doll was investigated by paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, who also inspired The Conjuring franchise.
